I an ARAMCO Brat and have lived in S. Florida since I left the Kingdom in the ’60′s. I too, came down with Polio around the same time as HRH King Abdul Aziz’ little son Masur (sp) in the ’50′s. My dad, Vince Murphy, worked for both of the Kings as Asst. General Mgr.-SGRR. My mom, dad and I lived in Dhahran at first, then moved to Dammam. I grew up in Dammam and used to ride to Riyadh with my dad when the Royal family called for a train to bring them down to the Eastern Province. Dad was friends with the Al Gosaibis and the Kanoos. I attended many dinners with my dad at Emir Ibn Jiluwi’s in Dammam. I would love to contribute my experiences with your readership and am desparate trying to photos of the SGRR compound in the 1950′s. I still speak a little Arabic and try to use it when lucky enough to fine someone else who does. I loveed my growing up in the Kingdom and would go back in a minute, if I had the chance. Looking forward to he ring from you. -Davey Murphy
